My Purple Personality

My Purple Personality

Purple!!! There is no doubt that purple is my favorite color. I love all shades of purple and it seems the shades are as vast as the sides of my personality. So, I am excited to explore some purple stuff and things. Sort of a wish list of purple things I love and a look at my personality.

Purpleologist, never heard of this but I am definitely a lover of all things purple! This bag is so cute and would be something I would use every day; my love of makeup tells me this may have to be a makeup bag in my future. (Affiliate links within)

ROYAL – Well some call me Queen so I guess I checked that off the Purpleologist list. But interesting piece of history; one of my genealogy lines goes back to England that includes royalty. Many do not realize that if you have lines going back to England there is a good chance it may be royal lines. The reason is that during the dark times of plagues the chance of survival was greater among the royals and those with money who could stay away from the populations and survive it. You may have royal lines and not even know it!!!

CREATIVE – This took some thought. I have often stated that I am not very creative but then I realized I am creative, just not crafty, as I love to write, and I have always had a love for literature. Shout out here to my 9th grade teacher who had such a passion for Shakespeare and made me absolutely love his works. I love words, words breathe life into not just stories but everything from advertisements to communications with others.

SPIRITUAL/INSPIRING – Spirituality is different for each person, for me it is personal. It is a conversation between me and my heavenly father. It is quiet reflection of myself and the world around me. It is listening to the still small voice that speaks to me and having the faith to follow. It is knowing that I am imperfect but striving to be a better me little by little. I love inspirational books as they speak to my soul. I also love to inspire others to be accepting of not only themselves but all people. We are all perfectly and beautifully made, God doesn’t make mistakes.

CHEERFUL – When I thought of being cheerful, I had to think about what makes me feel cheerful. My animals bring me so much joy, they make me smile and laugh. They make me feel uplifted and loved. I am blessed to have my dogs and monkey but I love most animals and have a soft spot in my heart for them. Of course my kids at the orphanage also make me cheerful, and Prevela’s favorite animal is also a monkey! FYI if you didn’t know, I have always loved stuffed animals and playing games to win them!

ARTISTIC – The only way I am artistic is when I am doing my makeup. Trust me, I cannot draw! I am also fabulously known as preferring purple shades of makeup. Below you will see one of the highlighters I use, I actually really use this highlighter when I have purple tones on my face. I love it because it is pretty and only need a little and it is not expensive at all!! My artistry is limited, so I need good products!

BEAUTIFUL – I feel the most beautiful and confident when I am wearing clothes I love and that are flattering to my body; and most importantly that I feel comfortable in. I have found that all body types are able to look amazing and it took me a while in life to learn to dress for my body, where I actually feel good. Now of course beauty comes from within, but pretty clothes help me feel beautiful!

ROMANTIC – For some, flowers and candles or jewelry and chocolates are romantic. However, for me romance is measured in time. My love language is quality time, and I would prefer an evening together more than any gift.

ORIGINAL AND UNIQUE – It is hard to think about ourselves as anything special like being original and unique. But I think we can get to a point where we can believe we are enough. Each person brings so many amazing qualities to this life and we all have moments where we doubt we are enough. We doubt our job skills, we doubt our ability to be loved and be all that one person will ever need in this life. We doubt all our best qualities because we are hardest on ourselves. No one can point out our flaws and be telling us anything we don’t already know. I have come to understand thru love and acceptance of so many that I am enough. I am just me, and just me is just fine!

CALMING – Most people know I am an animal lover! I love all animals (ok not reptiles) but I have a special place in my heart for dogs. Dogs calm me and make me feel secure and loved. I read a study once that said dog owners live on average of 5 years longer than non-dog owners!! Time to get a dog? I wonder if that means the more dogs you own the longer you live…hmmm? I also try to be calming to others. To be someone that is a safe place for others to share, good and bad or happy and sad. It calms my own soul to help calm others.

PASSIONATE – I have many passions, kids and travel and more! But I am extremely passionate about CHOCOLATE!!!!! And how is it that I have never seen, heard or tried fudge brownie M&Ms? (Birthday coming up soon…hint hint! lol)

MUSICAL LOVER – Describing me would not be fitting without music somewhere in here. Music is a part of me. My love of musical theater, movie musicals and singing are huge parts of me. I am grateful that I was raised on the classics like The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, Oliver Twist and Fiddler on the Roof. I have been blessed to have seen so many amazing performers and shows on Broadway in New York City. Music is embedded in my soul.

PROUD TO BE A PURPLE GIRL!! – So will you join me? Come be a Purpleologist!! It just means you are special and unique and so much more, just while loving everything purple! I want to note that if you have a child trying to find their place in this difficult world or feeling bad about themselves, this children’s book below is for them. It truly is a good book for understanding that our differences are what make us special.
