Ingredients

  • 1 Pound of Ground Beef
  • 1 Egg, Beaten
  • 3 Cloves of Garlic, Chopped
  • 1 Cup of Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • ½ Teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 Cup Seasoned Bread Crumbs
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Oregano
  • ½ Cup Pine Nuts
  • ½ Cup Raisins (Optional)
  • 2 Tablespoons Flour
  • 3 Tablespoons Catsup
  • 1 Teaspoon Parsley
  • 1 Teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • 6 Slices of Swiss Cheese (can use chevre goat cheese)
  • 3 Slices of Provolone
  • 1 Cup Baby Spinach
  • 6 Slices of Bacon, Cooked

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl add the first 14 ingredients.
  2. Do not over mix.
  3. Line a cookie sheet with wax paper.
  4. Put the meat mixture on the paper and shape into a rectangle.
  5. Once flat, layer the bacon, swiss cheese, spinach, then the provolone cheese.
  6. Using the wax paper rollup, the meat tightly, like a jelly roll. Place lined cookie sheet, spread olive oil over the top
  7. Bake at 350 degree for one hour.
  8. When meat is done let sit for over 10 to 15 minutes before cutting, that will allow the juices to go back into the meat for more flavor.
